Overview of the Level of Knowledge and Perception of Adolescents About Free Sex

Free sex is an important issue of adolescent reproductive health today. Lack of knowledge, information about sex and adolescents' perceptions regarding the ins and outs of sex are one indicator of the increasing behavior of free sex among adolescents. Based on the results of observations and interviews, there are several students who do not understand well about free sex and what impacts and consequences arise, resulting in wrong perceptions. The purpose of the study was to determine the Overview of the Level of Knowledge and Perception of Adolescents About Free Sex SMK Pembina Bangsa Bukittinggi City in 2024. The research method is quantitative research with a descriptive approach, conducted at SMK Pembina Bangsa Bukittinggi City which was implemented on July 22 - August 6, 2024. The population in this study amounted to 220 people with a sample of 142 people selected using Quota Sampling. The results of the study in knowledge of free sex obtained as many as 92 people (64.8%) good knowledge, 37 people (26.1%) sufficient knowledge and 13 people (9.2%) insufficient knowledge. Meanwhile, regarding the perception of free sex, 99 people (69.7%) had a good perception, 25 people (17.6%) had a fair perception, 12 people (8.5%) had a less good perception, and 6 people (4.2%) had a bad perception. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the knowledge and perceptions obtained by respondents regarding free sex were in the good category. It is recommended that schools maintain good and increase the latest and most up-to-date information about free sex to anticipate deviant behavior.
