Effectiveness of Mobile Application on Quality of Life among Breast Cancer Patients With Chemotherapy: A Systematic Review

Abstract

Background : Breast cancer triggers the occurrence of malignancy in women and a small part occurs in men in the form of epithelial tissue and breast tissue, the incidence rate is 10% of the total breast volume. One of the treatments often used by breast cancer patients is chemotherapy. This therapy not only has positive impacts, but also has negative impacts due to the reactions received from the treatment. Objective : This study aims to identify literature on what and how, regarding mobile application interventions on the quality of life of breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy. Method : This study is a systematic review by analyzing several articles from several international databases, including Scopus, Science Direct, and Pubmed for publications in the last five years, namely 2018 to 2022. Literature searches use English with the keywords used '' mobile application and breast cancer and quality of life and chemotherapy ''. Results : From the search from the database, 16 articles were obtained, of which 7 articles were from Scopus, 5 articles from Science Direct , and 4 articles from Pubmed. Then the researcher filtered again and checked for duplicate articles, 1 article was found to be the same, so that the total number of articles used was 15. The results of this study focus on mobile applications and quality of life in breast cancer patients. Conclusion : From several article analyses conducted, there are several articles stating that mobile applications have a positive influence on quality of life, as well as reducing pain and fatigue levels and improving health.
